Biography
Jamie Lamont is a 21-year-old vocalist and songwriter carving her own lane in Australia’s music scene. Blending the groove and soul of 70s funk with the polish of contemporary R&B, Jamie’s sound is both nostalgic and fresh, led by a bold and expressive vocal that is unmistakably her own.

Growing up inspired by artists like Joss Stone and modern powerhouses such as RAYE, Jamie fell in love with music that feels honest, soulful and a little bit larger than life. Her songs pair rich, sultry vocals with storytelling that explores confidence, vulnerability and self-discovery.

Her debut single Born Again introduced listeners to an artist unafraid to wear her heart on her sleeve, with her follow up release Typa Lady cementing her identity as an artist, a statement of self-empowerment and knowing your worth.

Jamie reached national audiences as a Top 21 finalist on Australian Idol, where her powerful voice and magnetic stage presence caught the attention of some of Australia’s biggest names in music, including Jessica Mauboy, Amy Shark and Marcia Hines. Along the way, she also received recognition from international soul legend Amii Stewart.

Despite her young age, Jamie is no stranger to the stage. She has performed at Blues on Broadbeach alongside Australian icons such as Jimmy Barnes and The Cruel Sea, and has shared the stage with acclaimed act Killing Heidi.

At a time when few emerging artists are championing true funk and soul music, Jamie is proudly bringing the groove back, creating music that feels timeless and refreshingly authentic.
